”I think that healthcare in Sweden generally works well for acute problems. If you have crashed your car and are picked up by an ambulance, you usually receive excellent care – from the emergency room to going home. However, if you suffer from long-term pain after, for example, the same car accident , or if you have less acute, but still bothersome problems that lower the quality of life, care does not have the same tools and skills. You can often confidently state that it is not an acute illness, but does not have the resources, skills or sometimes even an interest in getting on with the problems. I think that places like sls have a very important role to play. It feels very nice to be part of that work.”
